   A letter from Franz Lackner finally reached its destination after a month of travelling. Thanking everybody supporting the surFAIR project, he explained how the  money is used for the people in Sabu. Due to the extraordinary heavy rainfalls this season a lot of people are  suffering from malaria at the  moment. 10 out of the 45  girls from his residential school  are infected, some even  with two different strains. In addition, money is always tight for the tuition fees for the students in Kupang. These are just a few examples…for those who understand german can read his whole letter to find out more…. Prorider Flohmarkt by SurFAIR

A lot of ski and snowboard gear from different proriders was collected to sell it for the surfair project. This `prorider flohmarkt´ took place at the bierstindl in innsbruck on sunday 9. December and was part of the DKK (dj kafe und kuchen).

Kommenden Sonntag ist es soweit!

Der erste Prorider Flohmarkt zu Gunsten surFAIR Charity Projekten startet am Sonntag, den 9.Dezember 2007 ab 17.30 Uhr im Bierstindl, wozu einige namhafte Snowboarder und Skifahrer ihr Equipment beigesteuert haben.

Für alle die keine Jacken, Hosen, Goggles, Boards, Skier, Bindungen, Boots, Handschuhe, Rucksäcke usw. brauchen, lohnt es sich aber trotzdem vorbeizuschauen, um zum Liveact von Mc Fly supported by Cle & Tommiu und DJ Klängen von Essenjahl Selecta und Oran Shee, die gewohnt gemütliche Sonntag Abend DKK (DJ,Kaffee und Kuchen) Atmosphäre zu genießen.

Der Erlös des Flohmarkts kommt zu 100% sozialen Projekten auf der ostindonesischen Insel Sabu zugute.

After a successful surfair charity party, we (Bibi and Mitch) went off to east indonesia at the end of july to hand over 2500€ for the projects of Franz Lackner , and additionally 20 donated scythes of the company „Zwei Rinder Sensen“ for the local farmers, to the island Savu.

Last thursday, 12th of july, the first surfair party with the surfair charity tombola took place at the project in innsbruck. The goal was to have a good night out, celebrate the beginning of our travel/surf season and to raise awareness of the problems of developping countries which most of our surf destinations are. Further we wanted to get some money together for the projects of pastor franz lackner on the little island of savu, east indonesia. (read more under `why surfair?´)

Why SURFAIR ?

Our surftrips usually take us to tropical places which are mainly developing countries. We travel thousands of kilometers by plane to get to this tropical places while people in the backcounty of those spots struggle to survive. We come for a holiday or a surftrip, using the waves and their natural ressources. We go back home stoked with a smile on our face without giving the locals a possbility to have a share of our wealth. SURFAIR is a little project that tries to give semething back to the locals of those remote spots we are visiting on the search for waves.
